“The Commission shall recognize the following exemptions:
(a) Nonresident attorneys from other jurisdictions who are temporarily admitted to practice for a case or proceeding shall not be subject to this Rule;
(b) Attorneys who have reached the duty age of 71 shall not be subject to this Rule.
(c) An attorney who is licensed to practice law in Tennessee but who resided outside of the state may request annually an exemption from this Rule if the attorney is licensed in another U.S. jurisdiction approved by the Commission and the attorney is compliant with that jurisdiction’s continuing legal education requirements at the time the attorney files their Annual Report Statement.
(d) An attorney who has claimed an exemption or placed their Tennessee law license on inactive status with the Board of Professional Responsibility under Rule 9, Section 10.3, or who has been placed on disability inactive status under Rule 9, Section 27 shall be exempt from the annual reporting requirement under this Rule, unless otherwise ordered by this Court.”
